Roberto Alomar

Roberto Alomar was born on February 5, 1968, in Ponce, Puerto Rico. In 1988, Alomar started his career in Major League Baseball with the San Diego Padres. In 1991, he was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays, where he thrived as a hitter and second baseman.

Laurie Graham

Graham (born in Orangeville, Ontario) started ski racing at age 9, and joined the National Ski team in 1978. In 1983, she won the first FIS World Cup race held in Canada, the Women’s Downhill at Mont Tremblant.

Garney Henley

Henley was drafted in 1960 by the NFL's Green Bay Packers in the 15th round (173rd overall), but chose to head to Canada, and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats where he embarked on a 16 year career (1960 to 1975) of CFL greatness.

Sharif Khan

Sharif was born in Pakistan, and is the son of the legendary squash player Hashim Khan. Sharif settled in Canada in 1968, and came to dominate the professional hardball squash circuit for well over a decade.

Shawn O’Sullivan

Shawn O’Sullivan was crowned the Canadian junior champion in the light-middleweight division by the age of 16. By the early 1980s he was representing Canada abroad and was crowned the World Amateur Champion, as well as Canadian Athlete of the Year, in 1981.

Tony Fernandez

Tony Fernandez was born on June 30th, 1962, and grew up in San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic. The Toronto Blue Jays drafted Fernandez in 1979. During his professional career, Tony played for several teams in Major League Baseball and in Japan.
