Stacey Allaster is a visionary global leader serving amateur and professional sports for over 30 years. Formerly Chair/CEO of the WTA Tour, she was instrumental in the international growth of women’s tennis, notably securing equal prize money at Roland Garros and Wimbledon. Known as a trailblazer for diversity and gender equality, Allaster is fueled by her passion to use professional sports to inspire and provide access to youth to play sports. In the summer of 2020, Allaster assumed the role of tournament director of the U.S. Open, the first woman to head any of the sport’s four grand slams. Her experiences with Tennis Canada and the WTA helped Allaster navigate the team through uncertainty during the pandemic, showing that it was possible to successfully stage an international event and get the industry back to work. Allaster has received numerous awards including being named one of Forbes’s most powerful women in sport and in 2022 she was appointed Companion of the Order of Canada, the nation’s highest civilian honour.
