Arnold Palmer – 2013 Heritage Award

Perhaps no figure in the history of golf injected more excitement into the game over a sustained period than Arnold Palmer. Palmer's ability to win with boldness and charisma was the single biggest factor in the game's explosive growth after 1960.

Dave Perkins – 2013 Sandy Hawley Award

Dave Perkins was born Midland, Ont, in 1953. Dave moved to Toronto 1958, so he actually well remembers both the baseball Maple Leafs and when the hockey Maple Leafs did things like win Stanley Cups. Dave attended Ryerson Journalism and began working at Globe and Mail in 1973.

Ralph Mellanby – 2013 Brian Williams Media Award

Ralph Mellanby was born in Hamilton Ontario on August 22nd 1934, but his father’s new job as editor of the Windsor Star took the family to Essex County, where Ralph went to Essex District High School.

Milos Raonic – Syl Apps Award 2013

In 2013, Thornhill's son Milos Raonic rode his rocket serve to become the ATP's 10th ranked men's singles player. No Canadian man ever ranked higher. Raonic ranked 11th at season's end.
